In the Podcast Hackthon we made an audio and each group played a character role based on the book " The absolute True Diary of a Part Time Indian" My group had to play the role of "Mary" the main characters sister.
It deepened my understanding of the book because it made me feel in a way as the character and look from their side of the view. What I learned from making a podcast was how using background noises is really important to make the listener visualize the actual scene.
I contributed to this project by giving ideas to our group and being Mary Spirit. Our final audio was really nice. I liked it I know we could've done better by showing more emotion into the characters voice but it was really good.
This is the link for our character sheet.
I contributed to this project by filling out the worksheet with my "Squad" It helped me know more about Mary and how she's see things and how she must feel. |
In our script we went through different ideas of how to end the it because Mary dies in the end. We went through a few bumps trying to figure it out but it all went good in the end.

To be completely honest the Scrum Board didn't really help because I wasn't writing our goals, I was helping come up with some but I didn't personally write them and for me writing my own goals helps me better to see what I have to do.
We made this recording in an app on the computer called "Audacity" One of my group mates worked on editing and the rest of us worked on making the audio. The way we choose who was who was just by volunteering. I felt like being Mary so volunteered to. The rest was just who fit who. Some of the funny things that we included was when Mary was so drunk but I didn't know how to act drunk so it sounds weird and made people laugh. We used background effects by going to tons when Mary asks for a job application and went outside where the manager calls Mary.
