Celebration SlamI never knew I had an interest in poetry. Once we started doing this project I immediately thought I would not enjoy this project, but when we started doing Haiku, Carpe Diem, Elegy and Free Verse I started noticing it wasn't as bad. The further we got into the project the more I started to enjoy it. When Kane Smego came in he really opened my mind to think of ways of metaphors and how to make them stronger. I'm more of a free verse person. When I was doing my free verse poem I was really proud of it, I felt like I accomplished something, it came naturally as if I were spitting out words just writing them instead of speaking.
Struggles are inevitable. Of course I had them. One of the biggest struggles I had was communicating and agreeing with my group. We all had different ideas of what our message of the poem was going to be bravery, beauty, war. It was just one word that clicked inside all of us when I gave them the idea of escape. We all somehow had a connection of things we want to escape. That's how our poem came to be. If their where one thing that I would be able to change about this project is making our poem better than it was. Our poem was pretty good if I say so, but everything could always improve in some way. |

A Tiny Home Is Where The HeART is BookI ve learned so many things throughout the Tiny Homes Project and one of them is friendship, of course many will say that is not related to humanities its not, but its related to life you will need communication through your group and my group has achieve that. We worked together on making interview questions for our artist by having Mock interviews and just preparing for them. When time came we got the name of our artist. Stacy Riley and from there on we asked her questions about her current home, what kind of art she does etc. I always thought that we should wing it but having practice made me much more confident.
Although my group was the best we had some challenges because we would sometimes slack of when we needed to get work done but we always ended up getting it done, but last minute. Lucid Press was one of those struggles because we didn't revised our articles as much as we should've to have made them better. A struggle that our class had that affected us as well was people accidentally erasing our stuff and so we would have to start over again or we would have glitches. We learned to be careful and watch what we were typing and where we were typing it. When it came to the final artifact I felt so proud of our class because we have accomplished what no there team has and we have built a home but we stay classy and also write about it. Reflection This had been such an interesting project, and its been amazing. At the beginning of the year Already knew that us teenagers can do anything we set our minds to, but it hasn't struck me till now that we can. We made a whole entire book for people with an interest for the artists and on top of that we are building a house. Its not everyday that most teenagers get the opportunity that I have had. |
Character Hat For Romeo and JulietOur hat was inspired by the nurse. The nurse plays a big role in Juliet's life. The nurse is disturbing, funny and she gossips a lot with Juliet. We did a nurse hat and we put yarn as hair to show the humor behind it. We did the color white and red because they're alarming colors and when you usually see those colors you think of a nurse. The hair is both brown and red because we imagined it her hair was that color. We tried our best to represent our character without actually seeing them and using our creativity.
Reflection I know that Paola and I could've done a much better job, but we had little mistakes which wouldn't work with the hat so we would have to draft another hat, and doing that would time away from our work time. At the end of the day though our hats made people laugh. |
